EYFS starters 2026

I would like to extend a very warm welcome to all families who have a child joining us at Little Stoke in September 2025. We welcome those of you who already have children in school and those of you who are joining us for the first time. All our friendly staff are looking forward to meeting your child and we know that this is just the start of an exciting journey of learning and discovery!

As well as the induction evening we will hold a  Teddy Bear’s picnic induction event.

Do contact the school via phone or email if you need some urgent questions answered before September.

Below are the key documents and dates which have been shared with parents for your reference.

 

Key dates:

 

Thursday 4th June 2026 at 5.30pm: main induction session for all parents (parent only session)

‘Teddy Bear’s Picnic’ event:

Tuesday 30th June 2026

You and your child are invited to attend either the morning or afternoon ‘Teddy Bear’s Picnic’ event:

 

Starting school September 2025, key dates:

Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd September 2026

During these days your child will not attend school but we hope to come and visit you and your child at home.  The class teacher will come along with one of the class Teaching Assistants for a short, informal meeting to give you the opportunity to help us get to know your child and begin the process of welcoming them to our school.

 

Friday 4th September

Short stay and play session in the classroom

Surnames A-G: 10am – 11am                                                        

Surnames H-Z: 1.30pm – 2.30pm

Monday 7th to Friday 11th September 2026

Your child will attend part-time for mornings or afternoons only according to their surname.

Surnames A – G will attend in the morning. They should arrive at 9.00am at the reception classroom door and be collected at 11.30.

Surnames H-Z will attend in the afternoon. They should arrive at 12.30pm at the reception classroom door and are collected at 3.00pm. 

 

Monday 14th September – Wednesday 16th September 2026

All the Reception children will be in together on these days but for shorter days, 9am – 1.15pm.  Please drop off your child and collect from the reception classroom.

 

Thursday 17th September 2026 onwards

Children will be starting full time, 8.45am – 3.15pm.  We understand that children sometimes become tired, if you have any concerns regarding this please come and talk to any of the EYFS staff.
