Houses and House Points

Our house system is a central part of school life. It brings pupils together across year groups, builds a strong sense of belonging, and encourages teamwork, responsibility and pride in our school community.

Our Houses

Our houses are named after aircraft engines, recognising the significant role the aircraft manufacturing industry has played in North Bristol and celebrating its important local history.

All children in the school are placed into one of four houses: Concorde (Green), Britannia (Red), Olympus (Yellow), Pegasus (Blue). Children stay in their house throughout their time at school, developing friendships and working together to achieve success.

Earning House Points

House points are awarded to recognise positive behaviours, effort and achievement. Children can earn house points for demonstrating our school rules of being Safe, Kind and Useful, living out our school values of Inclusion, Responsibility, Aspiration and Collaboration, showing excellent effort in learning, displaying positive attitudes and behaviour, and contributing to the wider school community.

Weekly Celebrations

House points are totalled each week and shared during Celebration Assembly. This helps to build excitement and encourages children to contribute positively to their house.

Rewards and Recognition

Friendly competition between the houses motivates pupils while promoting teamwork and mutual support. At the end of each term, the house with the highest number of points receives a special reward. At the end of the school year, the overall winning house is celebrated with a larger reward. Rewards may include extra time using PE equipment in the hall, movie and popcorn experiences, and creative art activities.

Building Community

The house system is more than just a competition. It helps to create a sense of community across the school, where children support and encourage one another. By celebrating success together, our house system helps to raise confidence, promote positive behaviour and ensure every child feels valued and included.
